On the 12th of January 2009, the State Archives in Katowice concluded a contract with “Mikrofilm-Center, Digital – Center” company based in Poznań for services covering microfilming of the archived collections.
Copying will cover documents and files dating back to 1438-1929 and owned by the Chamber of Cieszyn (Teschener Kammer), which constitute fundamental resources for any research concerning Cieszyn Silesia.
The project of “Protection and preservation of Cieszyn’s writing heritage” will include microfilming of the initial section of the collection only, approx. 80 000 microfilm frames.
